As I reached for my third can of Nitro Cold Brew, I knew that staying up late yesterday was a bad idea. It's not like we threw a huge party for Easter, despite every adult in my house has already gotten the vaccine- we still didn't have family over for the Easter holiday. My late night consisted mainly of me pressing "next episode" on a new Netflix show called "Who Killed Sara?"

Today is what is known as "Easter Monday". Yup, just like there's "Easter Sunday" there is also an Easter Monday. It's not really considered a holiday so we don't get the day off- but I'm most certain that when I was younger, we used to get the Monday after Easter off of school and work. Does anybody else remember this?

When I was in Elementary school, our Easter holiday was the best! It consisted of my family from Torreón who would travel to my grandma's house in Juarez. They would arrive Friday morning, and by that evening it was a non-stop party until Easter Sunday at my grandma's house! The best thing about it was that I didn't have to go to school on Monday.

Monday was reserved for cleaning up the confetti left behind from the cascarones, and trying to get over a candy hangover from all the chocolates in our Easter baskets.

I couldn't find any proof that Easter Monday was a holiday we took off for school- but I know that it happened! Sure, Good Friday is observed these days, but if I had to choose, I'd take the Monday after Easter off more than Good Friday- because now I'm going to need a nap!
