A train, heading for Santa Teresa, came off the tracks yesterday near Deming.

A Union Pacific freight train derailed between Deming and Lordsburg, a couple of hours west of El Paso, yesterday. 2 locomotoves and 20 train cars left the tracks. No hazardous cargo was involved, as the cars were empty, but haz-mat teams were needed to deal with spilled diesel fuel from the locomotives.

According to the El Paso Times:

Union Pacific spokesman Jeff DeGraff says two crew members who suffered minor injuries were taken to a Mimbres Memorial Hospital in Deming as a precaution. No other injuries were reported. DeGraff says the cause of the derailment hasn’t yet been determined. New Mexico State Police say the derailment is under investigation by the National Transportation Safety Board. - El Paso Times

There were, of course, a ton of chismosos pulling over on I-10 to take pictures of the massive pileup. Check out a picture here.
