When I first saw this video, I knew one of her bandmates looked familiar. Who knew he went from touring with one of the biggest pop stars of her time, to being in one of the biggest rock bands now? Find out who it is!

Mandy Moore was one of the girls in the early 2000s who made her name in the bubblegum pop world, with catchy songs and dance moves to go along with it. She toured the world with her band and needed musicians that were not only talented, but also dedicated and could perform. Luckily for her, she found a very talented guitarist in Jason Hook, from the rock band Five Finger Death Punch. Jason has talked about his past with the pop star before in interviews:

When I moved to Los Angeles, I was broke. I just made a pact with myself that if I could just get into the field, I was going to take the job so I could learn whatever I could. It beat working at Home Depot. I had to beat out about 50 guys at the audition. And then it was like, ‘Pack a bag! We’re going on tour!’ I was pretty happy about it, you know?

Jason knew that this wasn't the job he wanted to do for the rest of his life, but he did learn valuable things from his experience working with the pop star:

[It] taught me a lot: There were rules, you had to be on time, you had to be prepared, you had to be focused, you had to be responsible. It taught me discipline and how to work in that environment. I’m very grateful to have the history that I have. Some people think it’s not cool, but that’s OK. I had the option to do roof tiling and all that stuff. I just didn’t want to.

Five Finger Death Punch is now in Japan, playing Knotfest this weekend. Good to see that are work and dedication pays off!
