If you spend enough time in the Lone Star state, you'll realize that yes, we do have an accent. I even catch myself with a bit of a Texas twang every now and then.

But I think you'll also realize that the accent can vary depending on where in Texas you are. Houston doesn't sound like Dallas, El Paso doesn't sound like Beaumont; even different parts of the same city can sound completely different!

It changes from city to city, neighborhood to neighborhood, and sometimes even person to person.

And while plenty of comedians have tried to sum it up with a single drawl, I think Fred Armisen might be one of the few who actually understood the assignment.

Not bad for an outsider. Now I wonder how he would nail an El Paso accent- as long as he gets the "ay-ay" right, I think we'll approve.
