Five Finger Death Punch Honor EPPD Officer During El Paso Concert
On November 7th, Five Finger Death Punch rocked the Don Haskins Center with their friends, Three Days Grace, Bad Wolves and Fire From the Gods. During an emotional moment of the concert, lead singer of Five Finger Death Punch Ivan Moody shared a story with the audience, about El Paso police officer 'Big Mike.'
Office Mike made the news before when the incident originally happened, back in 2014. Luckily, Office Mike made it back home after the shocking incident but his struggle to fully heal continued. Not only is Office Mike a first responder, but he also did a few tours overseas, according to his friend Erik. Officer Mike's amazing friend Erik actually shared Officer Mike's story with us, including the video of the incident below, which may be too much for some to watch.
During the day of the concert, Mike was able to meet with the band and share his story. He wasn't looking for any freebies, he was just hoping to show his appreciating for the band he loves so much. Any rock fan knows the power of music can be healing. We at KLAQ hope Officer Mike was able to heal just a little more that night when Ivan dedicated 'Wrong Side of Heaven' to him, while saluting him in the crowd.
