Feds Say No to Sex Change Drugs For Illegal Transgender
Back on February 9th, immigration authorities took a transgender person, 33-year-old Irvin Gonzalez, into custody. The two U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents were waiting for her outside the court room where she had gone to get a protective order against her allegedly abusive boyfriend.
A week later, it all hit the fan.
National headlines reported complaints from the County Attorney and County Judge that this "sends a horrible message" to the undocumented community.
Now would be a good time to mention that the individual had "several criminal convictions" and had been previously deported six times.
To my friend who is the county judge I would say, "This is where you lose most of your audience". All but the most fringe of the left wing don't have a problem with the authorities arresting someone with that kind of record.
When you then go on to argue that the taxpayers should pay for the individual's hormone treatment while they're in custody ... well, you practically drive them into the arms of Steve Bannon, Donald Trump, Breitbart and the rest of the wacko pseudo-right.
Good luck with that.
