Borderland residents with autism and other sensory issues will be able to enjoy all the water parks in El Paso next year much more comfortably and under safer conditions.

Special hours will be in place next year during which water park attendance will be limited, there will be no loud music and other noisy distractions will be reduced.

These special accommodations are a first for the entire El Paso region. Until now, people had to go as far as San Antonio to find such amenities.

Over 80% of the staff at the Lost Kingdom, Camp Cohen, Chapoteo and Oasis water parks have been through specialized training and are now fully certified by the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards. (IBCCES)

As word spreads, Destination El Paso hopes even more visitors will come and enjoy what the Sun City has to offer to this special group of people.  A recent study cited 93% of parents of autistic children said they'd travel more if they were aware of autism-friendly options. - KVIA
