El Paso Shelter Dogs Flown To Different States To Find New Homes
Early this morning, about 50 pups from the El Paso shelter took to the skies in search of their fur-ever homes. We're rooting for you! This past weekend was one of the biggest adoption events for shelters around the country, Clear The Shelters. During this event, many adoption fees are waived to help bolster adoptions. At the City of El Paso's Animal Services Center, over 290 animals found their forever homes. Now, it looks like the shelter is once again working hard to help more dogs find new homes, even if that means looking at other states.
The City of El Paso Animal Services has partnered with Dog Is My CoPilot, Inc. to help fly adoptable dogs out of the Sun City and to areas where they can find permanent homes. Dog Is My CoPilot have worked to save thousands of animals from being euthanized by taking them from areas with overcrowded shelters and transporting them to other regions for adoption. Dog Is My CoPilot is a 501(c)3 non-profit and works with 100 animal shelters and non-profit animal rescues in 15 states in the West.
Early this morning, before the sun even came up, some adoptable dogs from Animal Services in El Paso were prepared for departure to be sent to animal rescues in both Idaho and Oregon. Check out the video below to see the lucky pups taking off on their first plane ride to loving homes.
