Anyone who was watching the 2021-2022 NFL Season can easily agree that this season has been CRAZY. I don't think anyone would've picked the Cincinnati Bengals & the Los Angeles Rams as the two teams to play the Super Bowl this year. But it's true.  Those two teams will be facing off against each other for Super Bowl LVI February 13th, 2022 at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, California. But the big question is... who's going to win? I decided to ask people online & here's what El Paso thinks...

I decided to go to two different social media sites: Instagram & Facebook. Let's see the Facebook responses first:

So looking at the results, you definitely see people rooting for the Bengals but most people tend to favor L.A. more. I got a similar result from a poll I posted on Instagram with over 2/3 of votes going towards L.A.

What I think is interesting is that BOTH the Bengals AND the Rams have had players from UTEP play for each team in the past:

  • Thomas Howard joined the NFL in 2006 where he played for the Raiders, played for the Bengals for two years between 2011 & 2012 & then he was moved to the Atlanta Falcons. He only played two with the Falcons before he was tragically killed in a car accident in October 2013 at the age of 30.

  • Brian Young played for the Rams from 2000-2003 and would later win a Super Bowl in 2010 with the New Orleans Saints (you can see him showing off his ring on the Morning Show HERE).

I know one of our very own is a HUGE Rams fan: Adrian Broaddus from 600 ESPN El Paso. He even got to see the Rams play at home this year so you know he's all in for an L.A. win.

There was one Facebook comment I saw that I thought stuck out however:

There's a lot of ring to that: both teams played their hearts out this year & absolutely deserve to be there in the Super Bowl. But if you ask me...I'm pulling for the underdog... or rather the underCAT. This will be the 5th appearance for the Rams & the 3rd for the Bengals. The Rams HAVE won a Super Bowl (back in 1999) but the Bengals haven't won YET. I think the Bengals have what it takes to get their very first Super Bowl victory.

Will the Rams win their 2nd Super Bowl AT HOME or will the Bengals finally win their first? We won't know who will win until February 13th. Either way... it's going to be a good game.

UTEP Football Could Not Keep Up with UTSA at Sun Bowl

The nationally ranked UTSA Roadrunners started fast and never allowed UTEP to get close. The Miners lost the game at the Sun Bowl 44-23 to drop their second straight contest and fall to 6-3 on the season.
