El Paso Playhouse Continues the Frights with Free Cult Film Festival this Weekend

Halloween may be over but that doesn't mean the frights have to end. Continuing with the spooky feels, the El Paso Playhouse will be hosting Witness! The Phantasmagorical Cinema Fantastique! A free film festival celebrating over 100 years of obscure and cult cinema.

Located at 2501 Montana, the El Paso Playhouse will host this free film festival beginning Friday, November 5th through Sunday, November 7th. Six great films will be shown, and if you haven't seen any of these films before, this is a great opportunity for you to be able to see them, especially in a real life haunted place like the El Paso Playhouse. 

The six films showing are as follows:

November 5

8 PM "The Red Balloon"

It will immediately be followed by "Das Cabinet des Dr. Caligari" (The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari)

November 6

8PM "The Phantom Creeps Chapter 12: To Destroy the World" 

Followed by "Nosferatu, eine Symphonie des Grauens"

November 7 

2 PM - "Voyage sur Jupiter"

followed by "The Little Shop of Horrors" (Not sure which one, but considering this is a classic film fest we can assume it's the 1960 version).

According to the El Paso Playhouse, both Feature films "Das Cabinet des Dr. Caligari" & "Nosferatu, eine Symphonie des Grauens" will be accompanied by a unique Witness! soundscape! Not sure what that means but considering they are silent films, we can probably expect to have a live music accompaniment.

These classics are favorites for a reason and it's certainly an event to not miss out on!
