Well, it may not be "new" to all area golfers but, many have never been allowed to play it.

El Paso area golfers who were not military or otherwise allowed access to Fort Bliss, have never been able to play either of the two courses located on Fort Bliss. Underwood Golf Complex has two courses and has been in the Northeast for years. With rare exception, only those with access to the base ... military, military retirees, DOD personnel, etc ... could play it though.

However, since the courses don't lie within the gated areas of the base, officials have decided to open the courses to the public. Golfers will NOT need a visitors pass to get there either and tomorrow morning, they're having a party.

To celebrate this event there will be course tours, tours of their Pro Shop, annual membership specials, giveaways, snacks, and free lessons from 10 to 11 a.m. - El Paso Herald Post
