The newest unbelievable photos making their way around the internet include a massive eagle swooping down on a unsuspecting baby deer and attacking it.

After the video of the golden eagle flying away with a baby turned out to be fake, I’m a little more than skeptical of most avian-themed anomalies. So this time, I’ll let you decide.

Below are a few photos from the Zoological Society of London and Wildlife Conservation Society. According to them, this very rare attack happened in Russia. You can see the eagle swoop down onto the back of the eagle for three frames. Linda Kerley of the Zoological Society of London was the one who discovered the images while changing out batteries of the wildlife camera. She also found the carcass. Okay, so far it sounds legit, right?

When Linda found the carcass, she said there were no other animal tracks in the snow and it looked almost as if the deer was walking, then just collapsed and died. All sounds pretty believable, but look at the size of that eagle! Who knew they got that big?

It sounds like a pretty solid story to me. Besides, when has a zoological society ever lied? But then again, I’m an awful judge of character. It took me ten years to figure out Santa wasn’t real. So you tell me, fake or for real?
