Director Banned from Cannes for Praising Hitler

Von Tier Praises Hitler

       – Lars Von Trier may have apologized for his bizarre “Nazi” comments during yesterday’s Melancholia press conference, but the Cannes Film Festival organizers apparently don’t care. After a special Board of Directors meeting today, they issued a formal announcement labeling Von Trier “a persona non grata at the Festival de Cannes, with effect immediately,” Deadline reports. The statement—which effectively bans him from Cannes.

         It took the organizers of Cannes a couple of days to issue the ban . You can imagine the confusion...them being French and he being a Nazi, they initially surrendered to him.

           This brings me back to a point I've made before: NEVER praise Hitler. Just ask Marge Shott, John Galliano, and now this guy. No matter how unique you think your point is, or how insightful it sounds inside your head...no good ever comes from praising Hitler! I've heard the man was kind to his pet dogs and doted on children but do you think I'm going to say that publicly. Heil, no, I'm not!!!
