Even though this is a remake, I love this movie. It came out before the big zombie craze hit with The Walking Dead, and I've always been intrigued with situations like this. How cool would it be to just hang out in a mall with access to everything in it?!

There have also been a few times I've had to explain who sings the version of "Down with the Sickness" in the middle of the movie. It's Richard Cheese and Lounge Against the Machine by the way. If you've never heard of him, look him up. He takes songs from rock, rap, pop, whatever and does a lounge version of them. Some of the other greats that he does are "Insane in the Brain" and of course "Baby Got Back."

Even if you've never gotten into the zombie craze and it's not really your thing, I'd still recommend this movie.

Dawn of the Dead Analysis

  • Jump Factor — 5
  • Gross Out Factor — 7
  • Alcohol Pairing — Depends on who you'd be. If you're Phil Dunphy, it's white wine. One of the mall cops, it's a cheap light beer.
