Chihuahuas Set Food Donation Record
Once again, the team helps out the community ... in a big way.
The El Paso Chihuahuas do a number of things every year to help the El Paso community and their most recent effort, despite a delayed start, set a new record. The benefit they organized to help out the El Pasoans Fighting Hunger food bank that brought in a record $3,440 dollars!
The drive started later than it was originally supposed to but the Chihuahuas and Whataburger still took things over the top. The food drive was held at Southwest University Park and donations were accepted from fans by Chihuahuas staff members, players, their mascot Chico and Whataburger staff.
Fans that donated received coupons good for a free Whataburger. If you would like to eat free Whataburgers ... for an entire year ... snap a selfie of yourself at your favorite Whataburger and send it to us via the KLAQ mobile app by June 16th.
