“Cannibal Corpse” Singer Loses 50 Lbs On Weight Watchers
A simple question for Weight Watchers: when is “Corpsegrinder” going to get a TV commercial?
Cannibal Corpse lead singer George “Corpsegrinder,” Fisher says that he was up to nearly 310 lbs. when he decided to give Weight Watchers a try. On the “Vox and Hops” podcast, Corpsegrinder says he gave W.W. a shot because his wife and daughter were on it. “I decided ‘I’m going to do it too…”Fisher told host and Cryptopsy frontman Matt McGachy. “At one point I was down 47 pounds."
Knowing how important celebrity spokespeople are for the brand, I assume it’s only a matter of time before Weight Watchers has a new pitch-man. Imagine it: Jennifer Hudson, James Corden…CORPSEGRINDER!
What’s the hold-up, Weight Watchers? Nutri-systems already has the “little bit country” audience sewed up with Marie Osmond. What better brand ambassador for the “little bit rock and roll” crowd like Corpsegrinder?
Corpsegrinders vocal style, which can best be described as “garbage disposal with a fork in it” has been the lead singer for Cannibal Corpse since 1995, a year after the band appeared in Jim Carrey’s “Ace Ventura: Pet Detective”.
Weight Watchers could spin this into a whole “Cannibal Corpse” theme for dieters. Feeling the urge to cheat on your diet? Just think about some of the band’s song titles: “Evisceration Plague”. “Devoured by Vermin”. “A Skull Full of Maggots”. If those don’t suppress your appetite, I don’t think any diet is going to work for you!
Corpsegrinder released his debut solo album “Corpsegrinder” in February 2022.
Do it, Weight Watchers, you cowards!
