Brians back from the dead!  In a good way, not in the weird "shuffle around and eat brains", Walking Dead way!

Family Guy recently stunned us all by killing off Brian the dog.  Almost immediately, peeps started imagining how he would return.  Future episode titles mentioning Brian seemed to insure that Brian would once again sip martinis while talking down to us.  It happened sooner than later fortunately.

(Warning to all you "I have a hopper, I'll watch it later" types, here comes the spoiler.)

Last night, Vinnie (Brians replacement) and Stewie used the time machine to go back in time and rescue Brian.  Best line of the night?  When Brian thanks them and says:

"a lot of other families would have just gotten another dog and moved on."

Well?? He's right 'ya know.  (and, The Griffons did actually...)

Creator Seth MacFarlane acknowledged all the angry Brian fans saying:

I mean, you didn't really think we'd kill off Brian, did you? Jesus, we'd have to be f---ing high. ... Oh and hey... thanks for caring so much about the canine Griffin. He is overcome with gratitude."

So, why did he put us all through this?  Why were we stunned and saddened by Brians tragic demise and then left with no explanation to help us cope?  MacFarlane, you bastard, why??

The reason was summed up in a tweet posted by MacFarlane after the episode aired.

"And thus endeth our warm, fuzzy holiday lesson: Never take those you love for granted, for they can be gone in a flash."

Right?
