Awesome El Paso Area Day Trips #3

Now that Fall is here, and it isn't so damn hot, the weather is perfect for getting out and about.

For the next few weeks, I'll be highlighting cool, nearby areas perfect for day trips or weekend getaways. Some you may be familiar with, some you may not so, check out the other posts here. Today, Fort Davis is up. It's located about 3.5 hours from El Paso and is an easy and scenic drive along I-10 east to US 90.

Once there, you can visit: historic Fort Davis, the McDonald Observatory or spend the day out on the hiking trails. Davis Mountains State Park is a great place to visit and, if the timings right ... 3rd weekend in September ... you can ride in Cyclefest. One of the most scenic bicycling tours in the country.
