Animal Services is overflowing with adoptable, adorable animals that need good homes. To help them get into their forever homes, adoptions are FREE till August. After the Fourth of July holiday, local animal shelters see a large influx of dogs that have runoff from their homes. Unfortunately, not all of those animals are reunited with their families. Currently, the City of El Paso Animal Services shelter has a large number of dogs that found their way to the shelter after the Independence Day holiday. The shelter is now urging El Pasoans to help by either signing up to become a foster or coming in or adopting a dog.

To help get more people to come down and adopt a shelter pet, Animal Services is waiving their adoption fees for the rest of the month of July. All adoptable animals are spayed/neutered, microchip with local registration, and age-appropriate vaccinations. All potential adopters must be 18 years of age and older and had a valid photo I.D. If you are interested in becoming a foster, visit the website and fill out the Foster application, have a valid photo ID and any pets in the home must have up-to-date vaccinations. Potential fosters get one-on-one training and are provided by the shelter the food, crates, medical care and more to care for the animals.

The City of El Paso Animal Services shelter is open seven days a week, from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. For more information on available animals, adoptions, fostering and volunteering, please call (915) 212- PAWS or visit their website.
