And Now: Puddle of Mudd Cover The Reading Rainbow Theme Song
Last week, a video of Puddle of Mudd doing a live cover of “About a Girl” went viral…for all the wrong reasons.
I’m not saying I could’ve hit every note in that song or that I could have done it better. But it seems like the kind of situation where you demand all recordings be destroyed or you’re going to start taking hostages at the Sirius/XM studios until they ARE destroyed.
Comedian Matt Harbert wondered what it would sound like if Puddle of Mudd’s Wes Scantlin did a cover of ANOTHER classic from the 90’s: The Theme Song to Reading Rainbow.
I was hoping this would be an on-going hit parade of P.O.M. wrecking some of the other iconic tunes of the Grunge Era but, alas, so far it seems to be a one-off deal
I have a list of suggestions, however.
The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air
“Shoop” by Salt-n-Pepa
“Criminal” by Fiona Apple
The Barney Song
“Mmmm-Bop” by Hanson
“Kiss Me” by Sixpence None the Richer
The Chili’s Baby Back Ribs Jingle
So, there are just a few suggestions of the top of my head.
