Normally, the city of El Paso doesn't like it when people draw all over things. This weekend though, it's all good!

The 9th annual "Chalk The Block" art festival is this weekend, downtown, from Friday through Sunday. According to El Paso Herald Post online, this is the "largest arts festival in the region, drawing more than 40,000 peeps each year", offering visitors:

a chance to see sidewalk chalk art competition, temporary art installations, street performances, hear live music, visit local art and food vendors, and participate in free art activities at the El Paso Museums of Art and History.

Hours are:

  • Friday: 6p-10p
  • Saturday: 10a-10p
  • Sunday: 11a-3p

For your convenience, Uber will have a drop off and pick up location at the festival and first time Uber users can use the code CTB2016 for discounted rides. Sun Metro will also be operating but, with different routes designed to avoid actually driving through the festival grounds. For more info on that, click here.
