4 Places That Desperately Need To Open Up in El Paso
After traveling throughout Texas over the years, I definitely realize there are big differences the rest of the state has compared to El Paso. And I’m not talking about the geography either. You’ll find many many places that are found throughout the state that you won’t find in El Paso. Since my most recent trip to Dallas, they are four huge places that I’ve got to experience firsthand that I feel like El Paso desperately needs.
H-E-B
Yes, we start with the one that everyone has been clamoring for. However, there’s good reason why El Paso wants an H-E-B, if you’ve actually been there, you know the selections of items vary greatly. I’ve actually been to at least three; one in the Dallas Fort Worth area, one in Midland, and one in Big Spring (which is a significantly smaller town).
I completely understand HEBs being open in Dallas and Midland, I’m actually quite shocked. There is one in such a small town like Big Spring; granted it was much smaller compared to the bigger cities, but I feel like we should at least have one in El Paso. My vote would be in the Northeast.
Buc-ee's
Texas’ favorite gas station was another stop on my trip. And this is another one I can definitely see why people love it. It’s not just because of how huge it is outside with the amount of gas pumps to fill up your car, but it is gigantic inside as well. The amount of specific items you can only find at Buc-ee's & the giant area where they make food every day makes Buc-ee's a spot I truly believe would benefit El Paso.
Personally, I would think a great spot to have one would be either heading east on that stretch of road heading towards cities like Fabens or Horizon; or you can easily place it along Loop 375.
Kroger
Another store that Is definitely compared to stores like HEB, Target or Walmart. Not only the selection of items MASSIVE, but the one that I went to had some very low prices too. The thing that makes Kroger very interesting is that it is owned by the same company that owned Albertsons, which El Paso definitely has in town.
That alone makes me think “well dang El Paso SHOULD have one then!”. If we ever do get a Kroger, I definitely think either the west side or the Northeast should have one.
In-N-Out Burger
Ah yes… the subject of many many debates online.. In-N-Out Burger. I know Whataburger is THE place to eat in Texas, but there are many In-N-Out locations in the state as well. Granted there are WAY more food options at Whataburger compare to the very small menu at In-N-Out, but after trying to at least twice… I can definitely see why people like it.
However, my opinion, I don’t think you can truly compare the two places since they are different that’s just me. I would love to see at least one In-N-Out Burger in El Paso just to truly see people would say or how they would react. That certainly would make the burger wars very interesting.
Other places I enjoyed on this trip were the DeLucca Gaucho Pizza & Wine, the 85 Degree Café in Plano & the Thirsty Lion by the Grandscape in The Colony in Dallas. I certainly wouldn’t mind if El Paso had any of these places or something similar.
Will El Paso ever get any of these places? Obviously, the answers not guaranteed. But I will say… if we were able to get a huge chain like Whole Foods in recent years, it certainly possible that we might see one of these places open up in town.
And my message to all of the places I mentioned before, you really should consider opening up in El Paso. The biggest city in Texas and we have been clamoring for more stores. So… there is definitely a market for all of the places here.
