The Semi Precious Weapons performed last night at Rusty's during SXSW. The line to get in was wrapped around the block but thanks to Lisa Sanchez and connections we got in. For once her connections came in handy.
This morning, we bid adieu to Buzz Adams and the KLAQ Morning Show as they made their annual trek to South by Southwest in Austin, Texas. The problem is, they haven't quite left yet.
After tons of horrible moments on the road on our way up to Austin for SXSW, we have finally arrived in Austin. Now, I have spent most of my time organizing the bands that will be coming in to hang out with the morning show. Check out some of the band we will have on our show tomorrow!
I'm getting really excited to leave to Austin Tuesday morning for SXSW. Buzz Adams, Lisa Sanchez and me will all be broadcasting live. I'd like to meet a couple of big name celebrities. Here are my top 5
I went down to Sonic Ranch to check out a new band that was in town recording their new album. I met The Burning of Rome over at SXSW and saw their videos online and knew they had a great sound, and were a band Q listeners should check out!

Young Guns is red-hot as they head to the KLAQ Balloonfest this Memorial Day weekend. The British rockers have the top song in rock with "Bones" as they made a successful visit to Austin for SXSW. The Morning Show had a chance to visit with them at our suite in the Four Seasons.
Lisa Sanchez saw them first, and we're happy she did. At a record party in Austin, Lisa spotted The Virginmarys performing and invited them to drop by. The band performed unique acoustic versions of their hits "Dead Man's Shoes" and "Just A Ride". You also ought to hear them plugged in because they are electrifying. Their official video for "Just A Ride" is at bottom.
In one of the most hilarious interviews we've done at SXSW, we find out a lot more about The Unlikely Candidates than we bargained for. All in their early 20's, every one of them has been in jail for everything from jacking cars to possession to shoplifting a pizza from Walmart. And they sing, too!
Kelly Ogden and Luis Cabezas return to our suite at the Four Seasons to catch us up on their lives, play a few rounds of "Signed or Unsigned" (of which they've been both) and play some rockin' acoustic versions of their hits, including "I'm Awesome".
Gabe and Dameon Aranda have become known for their vocal pyrotechnics, and they didn't disappoint in their visit to the Morning Show's suite during SXSW. They'll be doing much the same when they visit El Paso for an acoustic set at Balloonfest this year!
British alt band "A Silent Film" stopped by our suite at the Four Seasons during SXSW to perform, and they talked about pretty much everything...except SXSW! Much to the delight of the group.
