There are lots of different wines out there and many of them bear some very familiar names.

I recently found out there is a wine named after Iron Man. Turned out it's the super hero, not the Black Sabbath song. (Though the Sabbath song is about a hero. Well, a guy who tries to be a hero anyway.)

With A Wine And Chocolate Affair right around the corner, that got me wondering if any other wines have been named after rock sings.

I found that there's also a "Sweet Emotion" wine but it wasn't inspired by the Aerosmith song either. The You Shook Me All Night Long Moscato WAS inspired by the AC/DC song. There's also a "Hells Bells", a "Back In Black" and a "Highway To Hell".

I'm not sure whether Led Zeppelin had any influence on this Stairway To Heaven wine but you would think so. Right? Ditto for Purple Haze. They don't make the story behind "Smoke On The Water" clear either.

I'll quit while I'm ahead with the AC/DC collection and "Message In A Bottle", named after the Police song. Wines That Rock makes wines named after bands too.

While those wines "bear" some very famous names, these wines are made by some very famous names.

Geoff Tate of Queensryche makes Insania and Maynard James Keenan, (Tool, Puscifer, A Perfect Circle), has Caduceus Cellars. Dave Mustaine from Megadeth has his House Of Mustaine vineyard.

Primus singer/bassist Les Claypool and his wife Chaney own Claypool Cellars and the list goes on and on and on.

Get your wine, (and chocolate), fix Thursday at A Wine And Chocolate Affair in the Epic Railyard and Events Center. There will also be other vendors, prizes to win and more. Buy your tickets here.
