Want A Job At McDonald's? Slide In Their DMs On Snapchat

McDonalds' in Australia are now using the popular social media platform to get more young people to apply. No word on what filter is most likely to get you hired.

In yet another example of a corporate giant trying to become "hip," McDonald's have now started taking "Snapplications" for positions at Australian stores. Snapchat users simply send a ten second video message to the corporation, which acts as an application and first interview in one. If you pass this first test, the company will then send you a link to fill out an application on the company's website.

According to Shaun Ruming, McDonald's Australia chief operating officer:

"We think this is actually a world first. Snaplications is basically a Snapchat ‘lens’ that gives users the ability to apply for a job —or at least commence that process—by sending a 10-second snap."

Ruming also said that this is simply a "new and innovative" way for the company to find potential new employees. Snapchat has over 160 million users and if successful, we may see this in other countries as well. No word from McDonald's on whether they will roll it out to other places or when.
