Looking Back At UTEP Miners’ History of Appearing in Video Games

On July 19th, 2024, El Paso, Texas' very own UTEP Miners will forever be included in Electronic Arts’ latest entry into their college football series, College Football 25. All 100+ college teams are included in the video game, so that means that yes...the University of Texas at El Paso WILL BE in the game.

But how do we look? Well as these screenshots of the entrance for the UTEP Miners show, the team looks pretty awesome to be honest:

This pre-release gameplay of UTEP in the game also looks pretty promising too.

The attention to detail is very impressive. The details of the players uniforms, the crowd inside the Sun Bowl Stadium, the distant shot of the mountains… it’s all incredible to see El Paso within this game.

It’s an honor for UTEP to be included in this video game, but this isn’t the first time we’ve been included in a video game.

While UTEP hasn’t been in EVERY video game about college football, we HAVE been included in games such as College Football USA 96, 97. These are among the first video games to feature UTEP & the Miners.

UTEP has also been included in every entry in the NCAA Football series from 98 to the last one in the series, NCAA Football 2014. Various YouTubers have even made series that have included playing against UTEP, or even creating their own dynasty teams in the games.

It’s been over a decade since the UTEP miners have been in a video game so this is absolutely awesome to see us make an appearance again.
