El Paso has no shortage of places to grab a refreshing drink, but we might be getting a new option that's a little sweeter, a little creamier, and definitely not your average soda!

If you've spent any time scrolling through TikTok, chances are you've come across the dirty soda craze. We're talking regular sodas getting a serious makeover with flavored syrups, creams, and all kinds of delicious combinations.

Well, one of the biggest names behind the craze could be making its way to the Sun City!

Swig's Southwest Expansion Plans Include El Paso

According to reports from Fast Casual and Franchising.com popular dirty soda chain Swig has signed a 14-location franchise agreement to expand across the Southwest.

The deal involves siblings Heather Berry and Brock Stokes, who plan to bring Swig locations to Albuquerque and Santa Fe, New Mexico, as well as El Paso, Texas!

The siblings are hoping to open their first location by summer 2027, but before we get too excited, there's something worth mentioning: no specific El Paso location or opening date has been announced. It's also unclear how many of those 14 locations could end up in the Sun City.

Still, the fact that El Paso is specifically mentioned in the expansion plans is pretty exciting news for anyone who loves trying new drinks!

What Is Swig and What's So Special About Dirty Soda?

If you've never heard of Swig, allow me to introduce you to what could become your next favorite drive-thru stop.

Swig started in St. George, Utah, back in 2010 and has since grown into a popular chain with more than 150 locations across the country.

The concept is pretty simple: take your favorite soda and give it a makeover.

A dirty soda typically starts with something familiar, like Dr Pepper, Coke, or Sprite, and then gets mixed with flavored syrups, fruit flavors, cream, or other sweet additions.

Think of it as a customized soda experience where you can get creative with your drink instead of settling for whatever comes out of the fountain machine.

And if soda isn't your thing, Swig also offers customized energy drinks, boba teas, cookies, and other sweet treats.

It's basically a drive-thru made for people who love a little extra something in their drinks!

What El Paso Can Expect If Swig Comes to Town

One of the things that makes Swig different is its focus on convenience. Instead of a traditional restaurant, the chain specializes in drive-thru locations where customers can grab their customized drinks and get on with their day.

And considering how much El Pasoans love a good drive-thru drink stop, it's not hard to imagine people wanting to give this place a try.

Of course, we'll have to wait for more details before we know exactly where Swig might open in El Paso or when we could get our first taste.

But with the Sun City officially mentioned in the company's Southwest expansion announcement, there's definitely reason to keep an eye on this one.
