US Air Strike Accidentally Killed More Than 85 Civilians in Syria
Children are among the dead after a US airstrike killed more than 85 civilians in Syria after the U.S. led coalition mistook them for Islamic State fighters.
According to reports, eight families were hit as they fleeing violence in their area. Pictures of the aftermath showed the bodies of children as young as three under piles of rubble. Many Isis fighters are still holed up in the city and are preventing thousands of civilians from leaving. Basically using them as human shields.
Human rights groups and opposition activists say U.S. led coalition warplanes are the only ones that have been bombing in the area since the offensive was launched June 1. The Islamic State also reported the deaths and the claim in a statement that 160 died.
