After the headache of the freeway being closed this past Sunday, it looks like TxDOT is again closing the freeway for Westside commuters. Find out when and where and for how long.

The Texas Department of Transportation will be closing I-10 on the Westside of El Paso 27 hours this weekend. According to a news release, Project Engineer Tim Tworney said the 27 hour timeframe is "aggressive" for work that could take multiple days to finish. By closing the freeway for only 27 hours, they are hoping to limit congestion and teaches for motorists and businesses in the affected area.

The freeway will close starting at 3 a.m. on Sunday, March 12 and will re-open at 6 a.m. on Monday, March 13. Here are the areas of the freeway that will be affected:

North Mesa Street will be completely closed both ways at the I-10 Overpass.

The South Desert Boulevard frontage road will be closed from Redd Road to Thorn Avenue.
