
Discover Texas Cities Where Breathing Feels Fresh All Year
When walking outside in Texas, it's important to know what's in the air you're breathing & which cities are the safest to breathe freely. Thanks to the American Lung Association, they listed the top 25 cleanest cities in the entire United States; on that list, a few cities in Texas DID make the list.
Here are the Texas cities with the safest air to breathe according to the American Lung Association
The ALA ranked the cities they considered the safest when factoring in the amount of ozone air pollution, short-term particle pollution & year-round particle pollution.
When looking at the ozone category, a total of 4 cities ranked amongst the safest. Brownsville, Laredo, Victoria & Waco all tied for cleanest metropolitan areas in the country.
Taking look at the short-term pollution category, only about 2 cities made this list: College Station-Bryan & Midland-Odessa made the list. However Midland-Odessa DID rank 154th worst for annual particle pollution. But a win's a win right?

Now onto the top 25 cleanest cities in America. It's here that we find Two cities from Texas! Even though they didn't make the top 10, Lubbock-Plainview-Levelland just barely missed it at #12 & Amarillo-Pampa-Borger ranked #16. While that's a victory, there were still some high amounts of pollution in each city that the ALA thought was important which you can about here & here.
