Tonight’s Dateline Episode To Feature 2003 NMSU Student’s Murder
Tonight, the television show Dateline will feature the tragic story of Katie Sepich, an NMSU student who was murdered in 2003. Years later, her murderer was found. Katie Sepich was a 22-year-old from Carlsbad, New Mexico and a student at New Mexico State University. She attended a party in Las Cruces when she got into an argument with her boyfriend and decided to walk the 2 blocks back to her home. The young woman never made it back. Her body was found later that day at the city dump. Law enforcement wasn't able to find Katie's killer and it took three years before the killer would finally surface. During the episode, you will see how Katie's mother fought to find her daughter's killer and how Katie's Law, named after Katie Sepich, began.
