No More Delta 8 In Texas After This Week
It's been kind of on again, off again in Texas for products containing delta 8 and other "intoxicants". After Friday though, the party's officially over.
Texas has gone back and forth on this but now the powers that be have finally made the call - selling stuff that contains "delta" cannabinoids or THCP, (among other things), will no longer be legal.
For whatever reason, it's the one you light up that are off limits. Folks can still buy some other items.
New Delta 8 Rules In Texas
According to a staff writer for the Dallas Observer, Austin Wood:
Wood says it's mainly smokeable products that aren't allowed to be sold after the ban takes effect.
Wood said customers will likely still be able to buy topicals, some edibles, and products with a lower "potency." - keranews.org
Economic Impact
There are over 9,100 stores licensed to sell hemp products in Texas and the industry overall is bringing in billions and billions of dollars. Banning these products is going to take a serious bite out of that meaning money lost, jobs lost and taxes for the state lost.
Meanwhile, At A Sunland Park Dispensary Near You
New Mexico allows all kinds of cannabis to be sold and Sunland Park, New Mexico ... which is pretty much a suburb of El Paso ... sells the 2nd largest amount of it in the state. Most of their customers are Texans.
So, in our little corner of Texas, these bans and limitations are worthless. A quick trip to Sunland Park, Anthony or Chaparral is all borderland stoners need and there haven't been any major issues associated with it. Proof that Texas is making a big deal out of nothing.

Meanwhile, Texas dollars are making New Mexico and New Mexico businesses rich AF while our businesses suffer and fellow Texans lose jobs.
This is so ridiculous. El Paso is living proof that letting peeps blaze away doesn't do any harm. Certainly, no more than alcohol and tobacco do.
Note To The Overlords In Austin:
C'mon now - Texans have spoken and "we want pot" is what they're clearly saying. Whether there's a tiny percentage of THC in it or a ton doesn't really matter but the difference in the money that could be made sure does. Let's make, and keep, all those Texas dollars in Texas.
