Tire Amnesty Days This Week in Abilene
Do you have a bunch of tires you need to get rid of? Pay attention, here's some info for this week's 'Tire Amnesty Days' in Abilene.
- When - Friday and Saturday (October 11th and 12th) from 8am to 4pm
- Where - The Environmental Recycling Center, 2209 Oak St.
- What - Residents of Abilene can bring up to eight passenger tires without rims for no charge.
- Truck tires without rims can be turned in at a charge of $5 per tire.
- Tires with rims can be turned in at a charge of $10 per tire.
- Commercial and agricultural tires will not be accepted.
Anyone showing up with tires must provide a driver's license and a current water bill. Make sure you take that water bill! I learned that lesson the hard way down in Florida. I thought just my driver's license should be enough for proof of residence. Nope. They need the current water bill as well.
