Huffpost.com asked Twitter users to name something they were conditioned to worry about WAY too much as a kid.

They got some pretty good responses. We recently brought it up on the Morning Show and we got some great answers. From the looks of it, it would seem as though we all had the same fears growing up; but was it really our fault if we were kind of conditioned to believe these lies?!

For example, many of us were told to believe that if you swallowed your gum, it would stay in your stomach for seven years; or, if you sat too close to the TV, you'd go blind. I won't lie, I still kind of believed that gum stayed in your digestive tract for seven years- and I'm in my 30's!

By now, we know that most of the things we were conditioned to believe are not true- but it's still kind of fun to compare notes and know that we were not the only ones to believe dumb stuff! So I went ahead and asked our fellow Facebook followers:

And we got some real good answers. Here are 20 things we were woried about WAY too much as a kid that turned out to not be a big deal.

From quicksand to the Bermuda Triangle- these things were some of the problems we thought we'd encounter as adults!

I love how some of the responses were very Borderland centric like La Llorona or the Horizon City Monster (which some listener really believes is just Felipe Esparza!)

My biggest worry was the Bermuda Triangle, I really thought that scientists were not doing enough to solve that mystery!
