There’s A Baby Boom Happening At The El Paso Zoo This Spring
Congratulations are in order for a few momma’s at the El Paso Zoo as they are about to welcome a few new babies to their family of animals.
El Paso Zoo officials announced this past Monday that a new batch of baby animals are expected to arrive at the El Paso Zoo this coming Spring.
According to the Zoo’s animal healthcare team, the female pronghorn fawns, the jaguar, the Mexican Wolf, Przewalski’s Horse, and the Orangutan are all pregnant.
“The first priority of any zoo is the protection of these endangered species, but the second priority is the breeding and propagation of these species to ensure that future generations of guests have the same opportunity to see and appreciate these amazing animals.” said Joe Montisano, El Paso Zoo Director.
Once born, all of the baby animals will remain under close supervision by zookeepers until they can be placed on exhibit.
Congratulations to the Zoo’s growing family of animals. I’ll make sure to clear my Spring schedule so I can attend ALL of these baby showers! I love a good baby shower, especially when there’s animals involved!
Here’s A Look at Which Animal’s Are Expecting:
PRONGHORN FAWNS: Two pronghorn fawns have already given birth, and three other pronghorn fawns are pregnant and due this spring.
