Uncle Sam recently announced another round of stimulus checks.  President Trump tried to up them from $600 to $2K but was denied. It may still happen though...

Our kind and benevolent government has deemed (almost) all citizens worthy of a $600 stimulus check to help us through these tough times. President Trump said that wasn't enough and asked that the check amounts be upped to $2,000 instead but, that idea was quickly shot down. The idea is still on the table though and the United States House of Representatives will meet this evening to decide whether or not they will approve the $2,000 amounts.

There would be some conditions based on income and not every eligible citizen would get the full $2K. According to a story posted by our news partners at KVIA, news channel 7:

Eligibility for the checks is determined by a person’s most recent tax returns. Anyone who made under $75,000 as an individual or $150,000 as a couple would receive the full amount. The amount individuals receive decreases by $5 for every $100 a person makes over $75,000. - KVIA

President Trump finally signed the bill which included the $600 payment last night but only after being assured that the higher payment would be reconsidered. That is what is happening tonight and, according to the KVIA story, an inside source said that there is a pretty good chance it will pass.

In a time of strong displeasure with the government overall, it would make sense for them to allow this if only as a PR move. We'll find out for sure soon enough.
