The coronavirus has been scaring people that places are starting to close their doors. In Italy, the buses and streets have been quite empty since this outbreak. It kind of reminds you of scenes in the movies where it is a ghost town. Well, the week after Spring Break Texas Tech will be a ghost town. The coronavirus pandemic is the cause of worry people are feeling lately. First, they began postponing events like South by Southwest, then NCAA tournaments banning fans from attending, and now canceling school.

Earlier today the President of Texas Tech University sent a letter out making a big announcement. Lawerence Schovanec, President of Texas Tech University has one concern which is the safety of all members of Texas Tech. Classes at Texas Tech are canceled from March 23 through March 27. On March 30, classes will only be available online until further notice. Some students agree with the recent announcement not because they get a break but for their safety.
