Texas Roadhouse Server Claims This Is The Key To Getting Big Tips
TikToker @hhaylynn shared what she makes in a typical week working as a server at Texas Roadhouse. She only worked 4 days out of the week and actually made out like a bandit. Her secret? Pigtails.
Many servers stand by the pigtail trick. For some reason, women seem to find themselves more cash-flush at the end of a long night waiting table when they wear their hair with pigtails.
In her video, she shares what she wears each day and the total tips she ends up with when her shift is over. Check it out below:
On the first day, she wears a ponytail and goes home with $122. On day two, she opts for pigtails and makes $249, over twice as much as on day one. On the third day of her work week, she wears the pigtails again and makes $219, and on the 4th day, she leaves her hair down and makes $211. This brings the grand total of her week to $801. Not too bad.
I'm not sure what that says about the tippers, nor am I even sure I want to go down that rabbit hole. Pigtails are a hairstyle that I typically associate with little girls and innocence. Perhaps she makes more money because she looks younger? Or is it that men can be sort of pervy to their waitresses? Are pigtails supposed to be sexy or are they childish? Seems like the lines are kind of blurred in the service industry. Whatever the case, it looks like the pigtail trick is a winner.
Do you find that you make more money as a server when you dress or wear your hair a certain way? Do you think it's fair to tip servers differently based on their appearance? I'd love to hear about it. Please leave a comment below this article on our Facebook page.
