
Texas Roadhouse Butter Wars Are Heating Up Online
There are a few things you just don’t question in life.
Like how many rolls you’re about to eat at Texas Roadhouse or what exactly is in that dangerously good cinnamon honey butter. Because let’s be honest, has anyone ever stopped mid-bite and thought, “Wait, is this real butter?” And more importantly- do we even care?!
Well, thanks to the internet, we’re all apparently thinking about it now.
Viral TikTok Sparks the Texas Roadhouse Butter Debate
The “butter wars” kicked off after a viral TikTok from Paul Saladino put the beloved spread under a microscope.

In his video, he claims the honey cinnamon butter isn’t actually butter, but instead a mix of whipped soybean oil and honey.
And just like that, the internet did what it does best: spiraled.
Some fans were shocked, others felt slightly betrayed, and a few immediately blamed the butter for everything from bloating to broken trust. Meanwhile, plenty of people had a much simpler take: it tastes good, so what’s the problem? Which is what I’m saying!
Former Texas Roadhouse Employee and Fans Jump in to Defend the Butter
Just when it looked like the butter might lose this battle, a former Texas Roadhouse employee stepped in with a defense.

In a now deleted TikTok, according to Rachael Sykes, the restaurant uses Amish butter as the base for its in-house spreads, including the honey cinnamon butter, garlic butter, and more. She also pointed out that Texas Roadhouse operates as a from-scratch kitchen, adding a little more context to the conversation. Here, she shares the recipe for the butter:
The comments were full of people backing that up, or at least not caring enough to stop eating it.
I say when treating yourself to some Texas Roadhouse the real argument isn’t about ingredients, it’s about taste! If anything, the Texas Roadhouse butter wars prove one thing: people have strong opinions about their food, which is great.
