After a year long battle between a group of Texas nuns in Arlington and Bishop Michael Olson in Fort Worth, the Vatican has stepped in and declared the nuns "extinct".

The issue stems from an alleged online sex act between the Carmelite Monastery of the Most Holy Trinity Prioress Rev. Mother Teresa Gerlach ... I had to look up Prioress too, it means she's the boss ...and a Priest in another state.

The Priest and the Nun in Operation Mindcrime had a thing going on too and it led to them getting whacked by a junkie named Nikki ... I hope these two fare better.

The nun is "charged" with committing the sin of adultery and of violating her vow of chastity. The Priest has since been allowed to retire. I'm not really sure what they mean by "allowed".

In a Monday statement, Olson described the "women" who live at the "former monastery" are "neither nuns nor Carmelites despite their continued and public self-identification to the contrary." Olson said any masses and sacraments held at the 72-acre property are "illicit and done so without faculties or permission to minister" in the Fort Worth Diocese. - chron

Photos, which the nuns say were staged, taken at the monastery, supposedly show marijuana and edibles. The above quote was paraphrased, you can read the Bishop's full statement here and there is a complete timeline of events posted here.

The Monastery say sit's all BS and the diocese is just trying to get control of the 72 acre property, (worth $3.8 mil), to sell it. The diocese says THAT is all BS and produced a recording of Gerlach admitting to doing the deed.

The nuns say Gerlach, who is very ill and was heavily medicated, doesn't remember ever saying that. Wait, forget the Queensryche reference. Honestly ... ousted priest, disgraced nun(s), excommunication(s), allegations of greed and Vatican ultimatums? This is more of a Ghost album.

Now that the Vatican has intervened though, it seems like it's over. Diocese 1, nuns ... well, none.
