A motorcycle museum owner's love of motorcycles began right here in El Chuco!

The Hill Country Motorcycle Museum, (HCMM), located near Austin in Burnet Texas, has its roots right here in El Paso.  This is where museum founder and former Irvin High School student Pat Hanlon and his brother Mike bought their first motorcycle at a place called White's Automotive. (Don't look for it, seems it's looong gone.)

Anyway, riding bikes led to racing bikes which led to collecting bikes and now Pat Hanlon and his wife Janell have opened their own motorcycle museum. HCMM opened early last year and features not only dirt and racing bikes but, custom bikes, choppers, classic bikes and more. They even have a replica of the bike Steve McQueen rode in The Great Escape!

They're closed until February but, if you want to see some beautiful bikes, stroll down memory lane and/or learn a LOT about motorcycles, this is the place.  Whether it's a pit stop on your next trip or the purpose of it, you'll have fun.
