I’m not saying it, what I’m saying is that there is data to back this up. Texas is officially claiming some serious bragging rights.

Texas Leads the Nation in New Miss America Odds

New data from DuelBits shows Texas women leading the country with a 16.67% chance of winning Miss America 2027. That puts Texas ahead of:

  • California at 14.29%
  • New York at 11.11%

The odds are designed to reflect which states are most likely to produce the next national titleholder, and Texas currently sits comfortably in first place.

And while pageants haven’t been just about looks for a long time, the odds suggest Texas women continue to stand out for confidence, presence, and the ability to command a stage.

The rankings factor in things like population size, historical performance, and the strength of each state’s pageant pipeline. Larger states like Texas tend to produce finalists more consistently thanks to deeper talent pools and stronger preparation systems.

Texas also has history on its side. The state has produced three Miss America winners so far, and with the odds already leaning in its favor, many believe a fourth could be on the horizon.

El Paso Women are Making Waves

Here in El Paso, that confidence feels especially familiar. Two El Paso natives recently made history by winning national pageant titles at the same time. Gia Solei Espinoza was crowned Miss Earth USA, while Mia Navarro earned the title of Miss Teen Earth USA.

And not too long ago, El Pasoan Marissa Teijo won the Miss Texas USA crown at 71 years old! And not to mention El Paso has been making waves not just in the pageant world but also in the world of championship boxing, television and music!

Modern pageants place a strong emphasis on advocacy, leadership, and mission-driven work, and moments like this help explain why Texas, and El Paso in particular, continue to stand out.

Whether it’s confidence, preparation, or just classic Texas presence, the odds suggest the crown could very well be staying in the Lone Star State.
