H-E-B Merch Goes Full Metal and Texans Are All About It
There's something about band tees that I absolutely love, and while I'm in El Paso and we don't have an H-E-B, this still looks like something I would love! If you’ve ever walked into an H-E-B and thought, “This place could totally headline a metal tour,” well, someone on TikTok thought the same and basically made that dream a reality!
A graphic designer who clearly knows his way around both Photoshop and a mosh pit dropped a now-viral video where he reimagines H-E-B as a full-blown heavy metal band complete with merch that looks straight out of a Slayer show. Texans (naturally) ate it up faster than a Whataburger taquito after midnight.
Who Is the Artist that Turned a Texas Favorite into Metal Merch?
The mastermind behind the merch is graphic designer Connor Dwyer, better known as @connor.designs on TikTok. While he’s not a Texan himself, he's actually from Louisiana, that didn’t stop him from perfectly capturing the state’s undying love for H-E-B with a heavy metal twist and a whole lot of flair.
Dwyer recently started a video series where he creates metal tees for grocery stores and his followers are here for it. He’s riffed on everything from Trader Joe’s to Costco, but it’s his H-E-B tribute that’s really striking a chord deep in the heart of Texas. Seriously, if you're a lover of band tees like me, and a lover of H-E-B, you have to check this out!
This not only became Texas approved, but H-E-B themselves commented saying: We're obsessed! Now we wait for the merch collab, H-E-B!

And if you thought H-E-B went hard, wait until you see what he did with Walmart- because nothing says chaos like rollback prices and a mosh pit in aisle three!
At least a Walmart I have, I’m in El Paso and we are left without an H-E-B!
If you’re into band tees, bold designs, or just love seeing your favorite stores get the metal treatment, you can check out more of Dwyer’s work over on TikTok at @connor.designs; he also creates tees for artists like Beethoven and Pokémon! Fair warning though, you will want to buy a shirt that doesn’t actually exist yet, but here’s hoping!
