Texas’s Own Christina Dark is the Cosplayer of Your Dreams
Cosplaying is a serious art and in El Paso, one cosplayer's looks will leave you in awe. Meet Christina Dark, an El Paso born cosplayer and actress.
Dark was born and raised in El Paso but moved to Dallas in the fall of 2018 to pursue better acting opportunities and further her cosplay career. Her hard work is beginning to pay off; she most recently finished her first major acting role as “Lulu” in a feature, “Squealer”, which filmed last year in Las Cruces and stars Tyrese Gibson, Theo Rossi, Ronnie Gene Blevins, and Danielle Burgio.
Dark has been cosplaying for more than twelve years and has been an invited guest to numerous conventions in the USA and across the border. According to Dark herself
I discovered cosplay through a friend after graduating high school and have found it to be a great outlet for me to express myself.
Her first cosplay was Zatanna Zatara, although now, she is more recognized for her interpretations of Blue Beetle and Catwoman.
She loves to cosplay not only as comic book characters, but also those from film
and television. Her biggest strengths include foam work, as well as makeup, SFX
makeup and hair. She believes that all one needs to cosplay is love and respect
for the character, and that cosplay should be inclusive and fun for all.
Dark will make a special appearance at this year's KAM Con at Sunland Park Mall on June 17.
