Austin-based Bumble is taking a stand against weapons by banning them from users pictures used in their profiles. Bumble may want their users to "Date, Meet, Network Better" but the one thing they don't want to see is how can shoot better. After the tragedy in Parkland, Florida, the dating app announced in a blog post that they will be banning photos that show users with weapons like guns, knives or other dangerous weaponry. In the blog posting, the company says that violence and weapons don't align with Bumble's values and don't have a place on their social app. The company has long taken a strong stance against bullying, hate speech and inappropriate sexual content. In 2016, the company banned a male user for angry, sexist outburst during a conversation with a female user. Bumble also donated $100,000 to the anti-gun March For Our Lives event happening later this month. The only people allowed around their no weapons in photos ban will be military and law enforcement individuals in uniform.

Bumble has over 22 million users, with women making up about 55% of them. 60% of those women are in the 18-25 year old range, and the majority of the rest are in the 25 to 35 years of age range. As of March 2017, Bumble had 800 million matches and over 10 billion swipes a month, and it is the second most popular Lifestyle app in the app store currently.
