Guitar Hero is not the only music video game series that loves Texas music; so does Harmonix, the creator of the Rock Band video game series. It was announced earlier in January that, after 15 total years of giving songs as downloadable content, Harmonix will stop giving DLC for Rock Band 4.

Since 2007, people were introduced to many of their favorite songs thanks to the main games, the spin offs, and COUNTLESS DLC songs. So in our way of saying thanks to Harmonix for the memories, here are all the Texas bands & artists that have been featured in their games.

Rock Band 1

The very first Rock Band game, released in 2007 saw 58 songs on the disc. Among those songs was our first Texas artist: Flyleaf from Belton, Texas. That iconic bass riff from "I'm So Sick" will always remain in my head. That wouldn't be the only Flyleaf song in the Rock Band games; "Again" would be available as DLC.

Rock Band 2

The sequel, Rock Band 2, released a year later in 2008 would feature 84 songs on its soundtrack. On the list was the Steve Miller Band. While the band was formed in San Francisco, it's no denying that Steve Miller was such a HUGE name in the Dallas music scene, I went ahead and included him on this list. Their hit "Rock'n Me" was featured on the game.

Rock Band 3

Released in 2010, we would see two more Texas bands being introduced into the Rock Band series; Riverboat Gamblers out of Denton, Texas. Their song "Don't Bury Me...I'm Still Not Dead" was included on the soundtrack. Another song of theirs, "Robots May Break Your Heart" was included as DLC.

At The Drive-In from El Paso, Texas with "One Armed Scissor",

and we'd see the return of Steve Miller Band with "Fly Like an Eagle". Their other songs "The Joker", "Space Cowboy" & "Take the Money & Run" would also be available as DLC.

Rock Band 4

The final game in the main series, 2015's Rock Band would see a few more artists represent Texas; Austin's Gary Clark Jr. with his song "Ain't Messing 'Round"

White Denim, who's also from Austin, would be included with their song "At Night In Dreams",

And St Vincent, who grew up in Dallas, Texas, was also featured with her song "Birth in Reverse",

and then there are the Texas artists available from DLC on Rock Band
