The El Paso Zoo is teaming up with the nationwide "Over The Edge" organization to raise money for the zoo while "edgers" get to rappel down the Mills Building in El Paso!

The El Paso Zoo is holding a brand new, unique way to raise funds for the zoo. Over The Edge is an organization that travels around the nation having fundraisers rappel to raise funds. Here in El Paso edgers, as they are called, will get to rappel down the side of the Mills Building in Downtown El Paso on February 20th.

The event will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The goal is for the El Paso Zoo to raise $150,000 for the zoo. Those funds will go towards animal care, animal enrichment, education programs, conservation efforts worldwide, as well as for equipment and animal needs in the vet clinic at the zoo.

If you would like to become an "edger," you can register at Rappel Over The Edge For The El Paso Zoo website. The registration fee is $50 and that goes towards your $1,000 fundraising minimum. Participants must be at least 18 years old and between 100 to 300 pounds. The event can also accommodate special needs rappellers, they just ask that participants let them know beforehand.
