A plane crash killed a businessman and his 13 year-old son near Ruidoso, New Mexico on Tuesday.

A Ruidoso man and his young, teenage son were killed in a plane crash near their hometown Tuesday night. Justin King and his 13 year-old son Hayden King were flying from the Sierra Blanca Airport near Ruidoso, New Mexico to Abilene, Texas when their twin-engine Beechcraft King Air E-90 crashed around 10:10 p.m. The Federal Aviation Administration stated that the aircraft burned on impact. The father and son died on impact and were pronounced dead on scene. The state police also said that Justin King's wife and their other children were at the airport when the crash occurred.

According to the Ruidoso News, Justin King was the president of the Capitan School Board in New Mexico and the family lived near Ruidoso in Alto, New Mexico.

The Ruidoso Village Manager Debi Lee released a statement regarding the deaths of Justin King and Hayden King:

"It is a very sad day for the communities in Lincoln County. I remember telling Justin on many occasions how he had a very bright future with his gifts of leadership and public relations. This is a true loss and so sad for the King family."
