See downtown El Paso restaurant Elemi in the new trailer for Padma Lakshmi's new foodie show "Taste The Nation!" We are finally seeing clips from Padma Lakshmi's trip to the Sun City earlier this year. The award-winning cookbook author and television host filmed an episode of her new Hulu show "Taste The Nation" in the borderland. Lakshmi visited the local favorite Elemi in downtown El Paso.

"Taste The Nation" takes Lakshmi on a journey across the country, "exploring rich and diverse food culture of various immigrant groups, seeking out people who have so heavily shaped what American food is today." In the show, Padma travels to Milwaukee, South Carolina, Arizona, New Jersey, Honolulu, Las Vegas, San Francisco, and more. While Padma will be visiting all these amazing cities across the United States, she starts her show right here in El Paso. According to the show, she comes to El Paso to find out more about how the city's border location has defined our region's identity.

"Padma eats her way through this border city while discovering the origins of one of America's most beloved cuisines."

Elemi is a Mexican restaurant that has been open for less than two years but has grown a loving following. Texas Monthly Magazine has featured one of their tacos for their "Taco of the Week" segment. The restaurant is "inspired by El Chuco culture, the agriculture along the Rio Grande, and maÍz that is cultivated from within the navel of the moon."
