The Absolute, Scariest Places In El Paso According To My Facebook Page
"Spooky Season" is right around on the corner so I asked Facebook to name the scariest places in El Paso.
El Paso is loaded with history and much of the history is violent which helps make El Paso one of the most haunted cities in the United States.
I know a lot of haunted sites in the 915 but, knowing there had to be more, I asked my Facebook friends their creepiest spots. Leaving out graveyards and well known haunted hot spots, I wanted lesser known spots.
I was really after haunted homes and I got a few like the Patterson house on Piedmont. It was once occupied by a couple who mysteriously vanished and the "witches house" on the mountain.
Another one is a haunted duplex on Carmelita Circle. It's supposedly built on some sort of burial ground ... Kristin sent this story.
The KLAQ studios are also said to be haunted by several ghosts including a little boy. For whatever reason, our undead seem to be very fond of the mens' room.
I, personally, have never seen/felt/heard things and I've been here, alone, late at night zillions of times. I'm friendly enough, I guess the ghosts just don't like bikers.
Several co-workers have had experiences though and a few ... Johnnie Walker, Veronica Gonzalez and the late Scott Ronson even tried their own ghost hunt once.
I got some other haunted hot spot tips too including the Kennedy Projects on Zaragoza who Rachel Leyva said her Mom had lots of crazy stories about.
Some other, more well known, scary sites came up like Austin High School, El Paso High School, Concordia Cemetery, etc.
When it comes to haunted, creepy places, El Chuco is well covered.
We may not have a lot of water but, we got ghosts.
And Greg's got jokes ...
